The Relaxing Luxury of Sani & Ikos Resorts

The Relaxing Luxury of Sani & Ikos Resorts

In April I was lucky enough to be invited on a fabulous three-night trip to Halkidiki, in Northern Greece, to visit the luxurious Sani and Ikos properties. I absolutely adore visiting Greece and its many beautiful islands, so I was excited to see what the mainland had to offer. Fair to say I wasn’t left disappointed.

After a short direct flight from Manchester with EasyJet (which operates flights three days a week). I was met by a driver from Sani Resorts and escorted by luxury air-conditioned vehicle to my first stay at Porto Sani.

Modern luxury in the heart of classical Greece

On arrival at the hotel I was greeted in the reception area and taken to the lovely Sea Breeze Pool Bar where we enjoyed a refreshing welcome drink, whilst the very friendly staff checked me in. It was a lovely welcome break after travelling to sip a drink and take in the wonderful surroundings.

For my stay at Porto Sani, I was allocated a Deluxe Suite which was beautifully decorated with tasteful artworks. The living area was spacious and relaxing. The suite also had a large balcony which lead out from the master bedroom and the lounge that overlooked the well-maintained gardens. The comfy seating allowed me to relax and watch the world go by.

That evening I had the pleasure of dining at the Artemis Restaurant which overlooks the lagoon swimming pool and offers a wonderful selection of international dishes. The menu is a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian cuisines.

Porto Sani is part of the Sani Resort which consists of five luxury resorts, Sani Beach, Sani Asterias, Porto Sani, Sani Dunes and Sani Club. The family owned resort has endless golden beaches with crystal clear waters and the scent of pine forests wafting in the air from the Kassandra peninsula. Each hotel is beautifully individual as well as luxurious and extremely suited to families as they offer lots of facilities for children of all ages.

The five resorts are all dotted around a beautiful marina which has lots of shops, bars and restaurants, many of which are included in a dine around programme so you don’t have to eat in the same restaurant every night.

Unparalleled Sunsets

The second part of my stay was at Sani Beach, sitting close to the splendent Cape Sani beach. The views were fabulous and relaxing. I was welcomed again with a lovely drink before being checked in. This time I was allocated a Junior Suite which overlooked the infinity pool.

The suite had the most breath-taking views which allowed me to unwind and watch the most amazing sunset I’d ever seen.

Once I had settled into my room it was time for lunch. I decided to dine at the Poseidon restaurant. This is the main restaurant with a buffet style which I must say was excellent. There was lots of choice for different types of breads, fresh salads, soups and hot food cooked freshly in front of you.

That afternoon I also visited the other properties in the resort, Sani Asterias, Sani Dunes and Sani Club, all very different in style but all stunning.

That evening I had dinner at Pines restaurant at Sani Club which was wonderful, it had such a lovely atmosphere with a live saxophone player in the background. The menu had a wonderful selection of farm to table cuisine which centred around wonderful Greek food with a modern twist.

Spoilt for choice with culinary delights

The next day I was transported from Sani Resort to Ikos Olivia where I received the warmest of welcomes, I was escorted to the bar area in reception where they were offering champagne whilst I waited to be checked in and allocated my room number.

Here I was allocated a double room in the main building which was perfectly decorated in cool colours and again was very spacious. I had my heart set on one of the one-bedroom bungalow suites which were spread out throughout the lovely gardens.

Lunch was at the main buffet restaurant which is called Flavors. Located on the beautiful beachfront, Flavors is a wonderful Mediterranean style buffet which offers a huge choice of fresh food to choose from and all was very tasty. Dinning is casual with no need to reserve a table.

Ikos is an all-inclusive property where everything is included, you have a great choice of bars and restaurants available so you will never get bored of the same food and scenery. There is Ouzo, a Greek restaurant, Provence is a French restaurant, Anaya is an Asian fusion restaurant and Fresco is an Italian restaurant, all of which are included in the all inclusive price.

For my last night I dined at Provence and the food really was to die for. The French a la carte menu is delightful and the atmosphere was so relaxing and would be a perfect setting for a romantic dinner. The hotel also has an extensive wine selection which is available in all the bars and restaurants.

Goodbye Greece, for now!

My trip to Halkidiki must have been of the most luxurious trip I have even been on. I am very lucky to have been able to experience these beautiful properties in so much detail and experience what they had to offer. The trip has only deepened my love of Greece and I can’t wait to return.

I hope that I’ve left you feeling inspired about my trip. If you would like to chat to me about any of the Sani or Ikos properties, then please do not hesitate to pop in to our shop on The Grove or give me a call on 01943 607299.
